The total number of visitors for H.C.R. 2005 came up to 135,825. We sincerely would like to express our gratitude to all exhibitors, organizations and related people.
H.C.R. 2006 will be held in Tokyo Big Sight from September 27 to September 29 next year.
We will continuously be making efforts for the development and distribution of home care and rehabilitation equipment and look forward to everyone’s continued support and participation.

The Opening Day September. 27 (Tuesday)

◆Opening Ceremony

The three-day exhibition, H.C.R. 2005, opened with opening announcement by Ritsuko Nagao, the chairperson for the Japan National Council of Social Welfare. Doors opened after the ceremony with attendance of Mr. Christian Carstensen (H.C.R. Europe coordinator) and Mr. Akira Suetsugu (President of Health & Welfare Information Association).

◆Home Care and Rehabilitation Equipment from All over the World!

More than 25,000 home care and rehabilitation equipment was exhibited by 562 Japanese companies and 68 overseas companies from 16 countries and one territory. Many visitors were trying out these equipment and were consulting with exhibitors with great interests.

◆Abouding with Special Events! Special Corner "Children's Square"

Special area was set up where a comprehensive range of home care and rehabilitation equipment for children was on exhibit for children to try out products with their parents assistance. Educational equipment and communication equipment were displayed as well as wheelchairs and daily living aids. Also consultation was available at no charge on various topics such as usage of home care and rehabilitation equipment, child rising from medical point of view and education.

◆Special Course: Easy to Prepare and Delicious! Meals for the Elderly

We presented a special program on the theme "Meal", which brings a pleasure of eating and health to your daily life. A master chef of a top class hotel, offered a lecture on the theme "Delicious, Easy to Prepare, Delightful Meals". He made a presentation to introduce recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and provided useful tips when cooking these recipes. Also a dietitian gave some advice for those who are diabetic or hypertense.

◆Special Seminar Gained a Great Attention!

A special seminar "How to Select and Use Home Care & Rehabilitation Equipment" was held, which gained a great popularity last year. Specialists in eight different fields provided simple, easy-to-understand explanations about how to select and use home care & rehabilitation equipment properly. The programs of September 27th were "Beds" and "Cars".

The Second Day September.28 (Wednesday)

◆Approximately 1,000 Participants in the International Symposium!

H.C.R. 2005 International Symposium "The Direction of Rehabilitation for the Elderly" was held successfully with the full capacity. The guest speakers were invited from Germany, Netherlands and Denmark and presented the current rehabilitation situations for the elderly and related issues in their countries including methods of self-support for the elderly and care prevention, which has been received people's attentions since the long-term care insurance system was revised in Japan. After their presentations a Japanese guest speaker, Mr. Shigenobu Ishigami (executive director of the Japanese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine), host a discussion to consider roles of rehabilitation in medical and care field. We had approximately 1,000 participants in the symposium.

◆49,000 Visitors Came to the Exhibition on the Second Day!

The number of visitors on the second day was approximately 49,000. From the morning of the second day we had a continuous flow of visitors coming to our exhibition and as soon as the exhibition was opened at 10:00 a.m., the exhibition halls were filled with visitors. Exhibitors were promoting and providing enthusiastic visitors with explanations for their products without intermission. The children's square was full of children's voice.

◆The Special Seminar "How to Select and Use Home Care & Rehabilitation Equipment" Attracted a lot of Continued Attention!

On the second day of the seminar specialists provided explanations on the topics of "Bathing", "Toilet, Diapers, Excretion" and "Home Renovation". It drew a high degree of attention from visitors and we had approximately 1,500 participants in total. They had lectures on how to fit equipment to users, safe ways of assistant, or important points for care workers to consider and so on.

The Final Day September.29 (Thursday)

◆Closed with over 130,000 Visitors in Total

We had 47,033 visitors on the final day of the exhibition and draw to a successful close with 135,825 visitors over the three days.
