Curtain Rises on 21st Century, Independence and Care Supported by Home Care and Rehabilitation Equipment

The door of the 21st century has opened. Although there is a trend of families having fewer children and an increase of elderly persons within a slowly recovering economy, the social insurance system will continue to be quickly reorganized.
Additionally, it can be said that the curtain on a new age in social welfare has risen as the Care Insurance System was implemented last year.
With the foregoing state of affairs in mind in regard to home care and rehabilitation equipment, the role and expectations for daily living and home care of elderly and physically challenged persons is mounting, as well as for the preparations being made for the social infrastructure such as housing, transportation, and city reforms.
The first H.C.R. of the 21st century, the 28th Int. Home Care & Rehabilitation Exhibition will be held from October 24 to October 26. The total area of the exhibition is 51,380㎡and is the largest in Asia. H.C.R. is a comprehensive exhibition of home care and rehabilitation equipment supporting the independence and care of the physically challenged and elderly persons. We provide the latest information on home care and rehabilitation equipment from hardware to software beyond the various categories within the industry. H.C.R. attracts visitors by providing a place to have various encounters with products and people, as well as an interchange of information.
We will endeavor to contribute to the further promotion of the distribution of home care and rehabilitation equipment and information, along with the development of the industry through our H.C.R. exhibitions. With the beginning of the new century at hand, we look forward to everyone's continued support of our H.C.R. exhibitions.

Application for H.C.R. 2001 Begins in March

We are looking forward to many companies applying to participate in H.C.R. 2001 as we had more than 630 exhibitors from 16 countries last year. The application period for this year will begin in March.

Our H.C.R. Internet services constantly provides the latest information on home care and rehabilitation equipment 24 hours a day. Our H.C.R. home page is being accessed over 1,500,000 times a year. It is our aim to have our H.C.R. Internet services continually fulfil the role of a bridge to bring users and businesses together to a permanent exhibition which will be a place, ever being enriched for an interchange of information.

Market Statistics for 1999 Leveled off

According to our statistical analysis bulletin on a market survey taken of 156 exhibitors that participated in H.C.R. 2000, total sales figures for 1999 were 226.8 billion Japanese yen. Furthermore, in an effort to grasp whether there was an increase or decrease in sales ratios in comparison to the previous year among 50 of the 156 companies surveyed, it appears that the number of companies that replied either "increased" or "decreased" were fifty-fifty, and sales volumes were surmised to have leveled off as a result.
Before the implementation of the Care Insurance System, in reference to sales of the rental industry, it increased at one time, and depending on the home care and rehabilitation category, there appeared to be an upward moving trend. However, the overall market trend seemed to be almost the same as the previous year.
Due to the implementation of the Care Insurance System, more companies are entering the home care and rehabilitation equipment industry and has brought about more competition, not to mention a steady increase in home care and rehabilitation equipment users of the Care Insurance System. In order to ascertain how such factors have influenced the market and operations within the industry, we are planning to provide a detailed analysis of a market survey for the year 2000 and other such references for companies to further develop their businesses.
