Must Increase Insight of Home Care and Rehabilitation Equipment! - Fiscal Year 2000 Market Survey Report

A report on the "Home Care and Rehabilitation Equipment Industry's Market and Economic Status Survey" aimed at domestic companies that exhibited at H.C.R. 2000 was completed.

This year's survey is the third consecutive conducted which has revealed that the market trend has leveled off and the anticipated positive influence from the implementation of the care insurance system on the home care and rehabilitation equipment market was not as expected.

According to the survey, it was determined that the primary causes that resulted in a restrained growth of the home care and rehabilitation equipment market were "accompanied reduction in support from municipalities with the implementation of the care insurance system," "limitations on maximum allowances under the care insurance system," "understanding of home care and rehabilitation equipment by users and distribution of information to users is not advancing," and a "lack of knowledge of home care and rehabilitation equipment by care managers."

Additionally, to further promote the usage of home care and rehabilitation equipment, the key issues are "research and development of products suitable to the users needs," "closer relations with the community" and "closer relations with end users." Among those surveyed, the common view was that it is necessary to increase the degree of insight of home care and rehabilitation equipment for both users and professionals as was the opinion of a large majority within the industry.
